Edwards Technical Writing is a professional technical writing business, founded by Alison Edwards, based in Victoria, British Columbia.


Alison has a strong scientific background, with an MSc in aquatic ecology (UVic). Her thesis research used stable isotope ratios, and generalized Additive Models  to investigate concentrations of heavy metal contaminants (mercury and arsenic) in a commercial species of rockfish (Sebastes alutus) from British Columbia.

She  has industry experience from her  work  in Alberta’s energy sector.

 Alison worked as a writer on an ESA (Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment) task team, and wrote assessments filed with a federal regulator (the National Energy Board).

 She is a certified Technical Writer (Mount Royal University), 
and has earned additional certificates in writing grant proposals (MIPT), and Community Leadership (Leadership Victoria).

Edwards Technical Writing values team work, and communication. Deliverables include: Grant proposals, business proposals, policies and procedures, user guides, training manuals, technical reports, and scientific manuscripts. Technical review, editing, and coordination of complex documents are also offered.

Sustainability is important to Edwards Technical Writing, which operates from a solar powered office on southern Vancouver Island.
